this is a fun one to write as I’m actually showing a re-re-do of a set I did way back in 2013. You can see the original post here, but here’s the long and short of it… This was a beast of a set and a huge undertaking for an amateur (which I really was in every sense of the world when I started doing this) and it sat. and sat. and sat.
Some interest, but between the colors and the size — it was just too pigeonholed. We eventually moved it out to one of the barns at the back of the property and I’ll admit I almost burned it to the ground a few times to make room for other stuff. Funnily enough I was chatting with a friend of a friend who needed something “BIG” for her master bedroom. When I sent her a picture of the set she was shocked because she actually remembered seeing it a few years before but didn’t have the room for it at the time but absolutely had loved it.
As someone whose struggled with anxiety over the years, I’ve learned that the best thing I can do in uncertain situations is to step back and leave things in God’s hands. When she and her husband came out to look at it and fell in love all over again, I felt a sense of peace knowing that everything over the last 3 years had happened for a reason. I truly feel like I was meant to hold onto the set until she was in the right place to have it. The love that they shared for one another as husband and wife was so obvious by the way they interacted and I’m happy that the set is going home with them. One of the biggest joys in my life is to bring joy to other people. Isn’t that what it’s all about in the end? To love and have loved? At least thats what my grandmother said, and my mom still says to this day.
Here are some before, before pictures (NOTE: this did not cost a dollar LOL!)
and a before-after picture:
and some after-after shots… I’ll post some more if and when I get them set up in the master, but for now, it’s just too difficult for me to move this around to stage and snag some better quality pictures. You get the idea though! The Paris Grey and Pure White combination work together beautifully once again to give this bedroom set an elegant, stately and timeless look:
