feelin' blue?
Have you seen my comfort zone? I seem to have left it 6 miles back and can’t find my way back. I picked this dresser up from one of the many Facebook yard sale groups that I’m a member of a few weeks ago for a real steal of a deal. It was in great condition and just begging for an update. Here’s a look at the before:
I’ve been wanting to play with color and shine for some time now and with a gentle push from my friends Ellen, Chris & Julie, I decided this was the piece to do it with. I landed on a bright, shiny blue from CeCe Caldwell’s paint line called Maine Harbor Blue. This was my first time using this brand and I really loved it! The coverage was great and I am really diggin’ this color. I was a little surprised how easily it distressed as I was using my sponge brush to get the poly into all the little nooks and crannies. I wasn’t a huge fan of that for this particular project but I can see how it would be a great feature if you were going for a distressed look.
I had such a blast styling this, I was surprised that I actually had some things that “went.” Huge shout out to my sister in law, Jess, for letting me borrow her rug – it really tied everything together! Here’s a look at the completed piece:
