weekend warrior
It’s been a busy, busy weekend! It’s so easy to get wrapped up in work, but I made a really big concentrated effort to get out there and enjoy myself this weekend.
As a surprise for Jeff, I bought 2 really great tickets to see The Tenderloins perform live on Friday night. They are the improv group that star in TruTV’s “Impractical Jokers.” I LOVE watching Jeff watch this show. He laughs so hard that he cries and it’s so fun. The live show was a blast!
On Saturday we spent the morning hitting the slopes at Big Boulder Mountain with my sister-in-law Jess and her boyfriend, Tom. We finished off the night with an evening out in my favorite little city, Asbury Park.
I slept in really late today and then spent the afternoon with Jeff and my Mom. Now we’re finishing off the weekend on the couch. It was so great to spend time with friends and family. My batteries really needed the recharge!
Of course the weekend couldn’t be complete with out just a LITTLE furniture action! I picked up a dining room table set today that I’m super excited to get started on and I shipped this fun office chair out yesterday:
This old green chair belongs to our friends Ellen & Rob’s Aunt Peggy. It’s Peggy’s mother in law’s favorite office chair but unfortunately, as you can see, it was in rough shape.
I started with giving the furniture base a deep cleaning and sanding and then painted with a high gloss black lacquer spray. Next, we moved to the seat cushions. I tore through quite a bit of fabric choices before we found one that Peggy loved.
I worked with an upholsterer on this project as the cushions needed extensive work. They did an amazing job! Here’s a look at the chair now:
Here’s the side by side:
Have a great week everybody!
